I Have No Game, and I Must Blog

Appendix B: Colophon

I Have No Game, and I Must Blog is published with Hugo, hosted at DreamHost.

The title is taken from Harlan Ellison’s short story “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream”, which I have never read.

Text is set in Concourse, Matthew Butterick’s versatile sans-serif font, with a selection of alternate characters that are reminiscent of Futura.

The site is tested extensively on Safari 7 on Mac OS X 10.9 “Mountain Lion”, rather less on Safari on iOS 7, and very little on Firefox or Chrome. I’m sure it renders in IE. You understand.

This site does not take comments, for a variety of reasons, ranging from the theoretical (why not link to an article here from your own blog/site/Twitter feed, with comments?) to the lazy (I don’t want to even think about spam). And there’s always email.

The overall look was inspired by the first edition Dungeon Master’s Guide by Gary Gygax, the first game book I ever owned.

(Updated 5/2014 when I moved from TextDrive to DreamHost and switched from Futura to Concourse, 6/2019 when I switched from Textpattern to Hugo, and 4/2021 when I started using v2 of Concourse.)
